ART BADGE:
Scouts will learn the basic design elements and principles of fine art. The artistic concepts will be fused into hands-on activities in an art classroom. Depending on the level of the program, scouts may work with charcoal, acrylic paint, watercolor, oil paint, or pen & ink. Scouts will also get a chance to tour the Portsmouth Art & Cultural Center, a changing exhibits gallery, in downtown Portsmouth.

ASTRONOMY BADGE:
Learn about the universe in the Beazley Planetarium at the Children's Museum. Depending on your program, scouts may take a tour of the solar system, discover distant galaxies, or view constellations. Scouts will also learn about astronomical tools and how to observe the stars. This workshop is a great way to prepare for night-time viewing. Each visit includes an educational planetarium show.
